Lord Huron recently released their fifth album, “The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1” on the 18th of July 2025, which was a major success. They described the album as “road music for the route not chosen” and continued their music theme from previous albums onto this one centring the album around the idea of wanting what you already have. The album can be described as a dream-like state, following a journey into infinite fates, as nothing is promised, leaving the listener to question, “where are they going?”
Following the release of the album, the band also toured in support of it, and while the tour had no official name, it was dedicated to the band’s music journey and has been a major success so far.

From the moment Schneider stepped foot onto the stage in Edinburgh’s Usher Hall, he personified his songs and brought them to life, making it a truly magical experience from the beginning. Every one of the band’s songs have a deep meaning, and he cinematically brought every song to life, not just singing them, but performing them.
Every performance tells a story, exploring the deep truths within the songs and the band opening the show with “Who Laughs Last” emphasises this. The song explores a physical journey, based on the idea of leaving but never revealing where to, setting the mood for the evening perfectly as the audience embarks on this journey with the band.
Behind Schneider performing these songs, is a group of talented musicians forming the magic he showcases, and the band travelled through the show playing both old songs alongside hits from their new album. By the time they hit “Secret of Life”, the crowd was encapsulated in the magic on stage as the band captured every individual’s attention, using their one prop: a phone box, to truly perform the song.
As the evening began to unwind, the band turned down the tempo to perform a bittersweet duet of “I Lied”, a moment so pure and beautiful it felt invasive to watch, as if the initial confession meaning of the song was happening for the first time on stage.
Despite this, it’s “The Night We Met”, that is the showstopper every single time, sending the crowd into a mesmerised silence from the pure, raw beauty of the song. The magic and peacefulness of the performance transformed the venue into a something truly unique, all different people with separate interpretations of the song coming together to share something so special.
Lord Huron put on a cinematic masterpiece of a concert, giving special detail to every word and lyric throughout the night. The entire evening was an immersive journey, exploring the deep meanings of the songs they’ve written and watching them come to life on stage leaving the audience with an unforgettable experience.
